Where appropriate, his opinion addresses breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis, and the likely consequences of an alleged injury or treatment complication.
Dr Moore understands that expert evidence is not an advocacy exercise. His responsibility is to provide an impartial opinion within his area of expertise, including where the evidence does not support the position of the party instructing him.
Experience and professional standing
Dr Moore has undertaken medico-legal work since 2020 and has undertaken training in expert witness practice, including Bond Solon training. He has experience preparing expert reports and participating in the wider medico-legal process, including expert discussions and court-related work.
His professional roles have included senior clinical and academic appointments, advisory work for the General Dental Council and examining responsibilities for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery and Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Trainers, reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional standards, education and clinical governance.
His research and publications in oral surgery also provide a strong evidence-based foundation for his expert opinions, particularly in relation to third molar surgery, nerve injury, referral pathways, clinical risk and the provision of oral surgical care.
